Optimist Hall Is a Must-Visit

Today I want to highlight one of my favorite places to eat in the Charlotte area that’s sure to have something you like, whatever you’re into: Optimist Hall.

Located just past Uptown near North Davidson, Optimist Hall is the Charlotte area’s newest and largest food hall, with fantastic indoor and outdoor seating and complimentary Wi-Fi. It’s a great place to focus yourself on the work week ahead or gather with friends for happy hour or brunch.

Optimist Hall has 21 different food and drink stalls with every type of food you or your family could ever imagine. If you’re obsessed with sushi but the rest of your family isn’t, don’t worry—here, you can get some of the best sushi around while your family visits the taco stalls.

If you’re trying to find a quiet place to work, you can start your day by coming here when Undercurrent Coffee opens at 7 a.m. Then you can work hard until lunch and come and take a well-deserved break with some delicious Mexican food and duckpin bowling at el Thrifty. (el Thrifty is where our company had our Christmas party last year, and I have to say that it was awesome. They had golf simulators, basketball, shuffleboard, and even Pong!) Then you can finish your day strong before clocking out at five to enjoy a local North Carolina beer from Fonta Flora or a fancy cocktail at Billy Sunday’s.

Optimist Hall has it all.

If for some crazy reason you decided to eat before you came here, you can work up an appetite by checking out some of the local vendors who aren’t focused on food. For example, there’s a beautiful paper store called Archer Paper Goods that can inspire anyone to pick up journaling, or at least give you a good chuckle while browning their hand-printed cards section. Also, be sure to check out the latest addition to Optimist Hall, Paradisio, which is a plant paradise for anyone who has or aspires to have a green thumb.

As you can see, Optimist Hall has it all. I personally love coming here; I make a stop at least once a week, and I highly recommend that you check it out.

We Have a Secret To Share

I’m finally sharing the secret that we’ve been keeping for 10 months!

Today I’m eager to discuss something we’ve been keeping secret for 10 months. The main issue we have in real estate is communication, and it’s always been that way. Communication with the lender, home insurance company, the title insurance agency, the attorney, and everyone else involved can be a mess because there are so many different pieces to the transaction. So we’ve decided to bring it all in-house, and that’s what we’ve been working on for the past 10 months.

“We’ve started a new insurance division and also a mortgage division that we own.”

We’ve started a new insurance division, We Insure The Carolinas, and also a mortgage division, Closing Table Mortgage. That means we can control the process and client experience much better. For example, often, getting a home insurance quote could take two to three days. However, with We Insure The Carolinas, we can quote you a home insurance premium and coverage in three minutes. We have 350 carriers to choose from, and we’re licensed in all 50 states.

Soon, I’ll be interviewing our agent in charge, Jeremy Muldrow, in a video so you can see firsthand how your experience will be better. We offer insurance for titles, homeowners, autos, boats, motorcycles, and businesses. Our objective was to make your experience much better by having everything in-house, offering a full-service brokerage along with insurance, a mortgage company, and controlling the buying and selling sides. You’re going to love it.

Thank you for continuing to support us; we appreciate you so much. If you have any questions about our new services or real estate in general, call or email us. We would love to help you.

My October Charlotte Event Recommendations

Here are some great fall activities here in the Greater Charlotte area.

Are you into fall colors, the cooler temperatures, pumpkins, and apples? Then you’re going to love this lineup of fall activities in the Charlotte area:

First, head on over to Bush-N-Vine Farm. It’s a pick-your-own pumpkin farm in York, South Carolina, with a delicious snack counter and farmer’s market to go with it. Some of the highlights include a chicken coop, pumpkins of all sizes, and you can pick sunflowers when the season is right. I highly recommend the delicious strawberry donuts as well.

Just five miles up the road is Windy Hill Orchard and Cider Mill. This pick-your-own apple orchard has plenty of outdoor seating, flights of cider, and a small country store filled with apple-based items. Why not grab an apple cider donut as well?

A ton of local breweries have fantastic outdoor patios.

Finally, let’s talk about one of my favorite Halloween events. If you love amusement parks and Halloween, Scarowinds is the place to be. The Tunnel of Terror car wash in Belmont and the 901 Nightmare are both spooky favorites of ours. A ton of breweries around here have great fall patios as well.

For next month’s video, we’re going to focus on where to take your family that comes into town for the holidays. Hint: You’re going to be hungry, so don’t miss next month’s episode.

If you have any questions or real estate needs, don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email. We look forward to hearing from you soon.

This Program Helps FSBOs

Introducing our Smart Seller program that helps you sell your house FSBO.

Let’s face it: The market is so hot, just about anybody could sell a house right now. Buyers are coming out of the woodwork. However, that’s not the whole story.

Did you know that two-thirds of properties that close do not go under contract at the same price agreed upon by the buyer and seller? Inspections and appraisals can raise issues that force them to negotiate. Sellers usually walk away with less money than they expected.

Sell your home on your own but use our marketing services.

We’ve started a program called the Smart Seller program. Through it, you can sell your home on your own but use our marketing services. If the buyers come through one of our marketing services, then we’ll get a commission on the house, but if you bring the buyer in with your own advertising, then we won’t take a commission. The best part is we’ll do professional photos, measurements, virtual tours, and online advertising for free. You won’t pay a dime for them if you bring the buyer.

If you want to know more about our Smart Seller program, we’d be more than happy to sit down and talk with you about it. We have a sales commission menu with commissions as low as 1%. Just reach out and give us a call.

Looking for relaxation AND adventure in Charlotte?

The U.S. National Whitewater Center is great no matter what you’re into!

Today I’m sharing our inaugural “Where To Go in Charlotte If You’re Interested in [Blank]” blog, and I could not be more excited. If you have a family, we have something for you. If you’re single, we have something for you. Whether you’re interested in music, drink, or activities, you’ll love the U.S. National Whitewater Center!

Located about 20 minutes from the heart of uptown Charlotte, this one-of-a-kind water center has something for everyone. The highlight is the guided raft tours through the rapids ranging from class one to four. It’s even where our Olympians come to train! People will often set up chairs around the course just to watch and enjoy the scenery. You can see everything from atop the entrance bridge: the gear shop, the restaurant, the stage for summer concerts, the zipline, and of course, the rafters and kayakers.

It’s great because you can go either way when you visit: adventuring or just relaxing.

On the far side of the center is an open water rock climbing wall which is a perfect place to practice bouldering or just have some fun. It’s also where they host the polar plunge in February, which our director of operations, Mimi, jumped into last year.

There are tons of trails through the woods as well as a gravel path that follows the water. Most of these highlight the challenging high-rope courses dotted throughout the center. All of the paths are dog-friendly. With so many trails, it’s no wonder they host all sorts of races from 5ks to 10ks and even a dog jog.

Once you’re done with your adventure, or maybe you just came to relax, you can grab a drink and a snack from the various markets and restaurants around the center.

Even though summer is winding down, it’s still a great place to go. In the winter, they’ll turn the rafting area into a skating rink and put up various lighting exhibits along the trails.

It’s one of my favorite places to go. It’s great because you can go either way with it: adventuring or just relaxing. I especially love to bring all my friends, family, and out-of-town guests who’ve never been there. Their faces always light up when they walk in that amazing grand entrance.

If you want some more recommendations on where to go in Charlotte, or if you have any real estate questions I can help you with, don’t hesitate to give me a call. I’d love to help!
